Buy Now, Pay Later on Whop: Klarna, Afterpay and the Emails That Close High-Ticket Sales

Which BNPL providers Whop supports, who qualifies, what it costs, and the email flows that turn financing into more high-ticket sales.

If you sell coaching, courses or programs above a few hundred dollars, price is often the last objection. Buy now, pay later (BNPL) lets buyers split the cost while you get paid upfront. Whop supports more financing providers than most platforms, but you need approval and it is not cheap. Here is what to know, and how email helps you get the most from it.

Which providers Whop supports

Whop lists thirteen financing options: Afterpay (Clearpay in the UK), Splitit, Klarna, Sezzle, Zip, ClarityPay, PayPal, Scalapay, Tamara, SeQura, Kueski, Addi and native card installments. A few highlights from Whop's docs:

Provider Regions Max amount Max term
Klarna US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia $10k 24 months
Afterpay / Clearpay US, UK, Australia $4k 12 months
Splitit US and international $20k 6 months
ClarityPay US, Puerto Rico $30k 36 months
Scalapay Italy, France, Spain, Portugal €3k 4 months

Options show up automatically at checkout when the buyer is eligible. Many depend on the checkout currency, so turning on adaptive pricing (local currency) helps buyers abroad see them.

Who qualifies

Whop's requirements include:

  • A fully verified Whop Payments account and a complete store page.
  • A dispute rate under 2% over 90 days. New businesses submit 90 days of statements from their previous processor.
  • At least $30,000 processed from 10 or more customers in the last 90 days.
  • An eligible category. Gambling, trading signals (pure education may be fine), credit offers and adult content are not.

Apply from the Payouts page under Financing and other payment methods, or when creating a checkout link.

What it costs

Financing is the most expensive way to get paid on Whop. Its fees page lists 15% for financing and 20% for ClarityPay No Interest. On a $2,000 program, that is $300 to $400. It is worth it only if it brings sales you would not otherwise get. Track conversion before and after.

Keep financing turned on

Disputes are what lose sellers their financing access. Whop shows dispute rates per financing partner on your Health report and sends warnings. Email is your best tool for keeping disputes low:

  1. Welcome right after purchase. Confirm what they bought, how to access it and when the first session is.
  2. Onboarding in the first week. Buyers who start using the product early do not dispute it.
  3. Check-ins at key milestones. Especially before the end of a refund window.
  4. Plain refund instructions. A refund is better than a chargeback for everyone.

Our 7-day welcome email sequence is a good base.

Use email to sell the financed offer

BNPL lowers the barrier, but buyers still need to want the offer. Mention the monthly option in your sales emails ("from about $X per month with Klarna, if eligible") and send a reminder to people who opened the checkout but did not pay. See abandoned checkout emails.

WhopMail connects to Whop, so purchases, payments and cancellations each start the right flow without manual work.

After the big purchase

A buyer who just financed a program is a good candidate for a small, related add-on, like a workbook or a bonus call. Our sister product OneClick Upsell shows a one-click offer right after checkout. For PayPal specifically, see their guide to accepting PayPal on Whop. Their Whop payment methods guide covers every other way buyers can pay.
