Content Rewards is one of the fastest growing parts of Whop. Search interest in clipping and Content Rewards has climbed sharply this year. The idea is simple: creators post short videos about your brand and you pay them for views. The hard part is what happens after the view.
A view is rented attention. An email subscriber is attention you keep. This guide covers how Content Rewards works and how to set up the path from a clip to your list.
How Content Rewards works
According to Whop's docs, Content Rewards is a marketing tool where creators make content about your brand and you pay them based on views, but only after you approve their post. There are two campaign types:
- Content clipping: creators cut your long-form content, like podcasts, livestreams and webinars, into short clips for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X and Instagram Reels.
- User-generated content: creators make original content about your brand following your guidelines, such as testimonials or product demos.
You set how much you pay per 1,000 views and a total budget. Creators post, you review submissions against your requirements, and Whop pays approved creators by views. Whop has also added an AI reviewer that checks submissions against your campaign requirements for you.
The leak: views that never come back
Most clipping campaigns are measured on views and cost per 1,000 views. But a viewer who watches a 30 second clip and keeps scrolling is gone. If your only call to action is "buy now", you lose everyone who is interested but not ready.
The fix is to give viewers a smaller first step, and to make sure buyers land on your list too.

Step 1: Give clips one clear destination
Every campaign brief should point creators at one link. Make it a page with a single job:
- A free lesson, template or checklist in exchange for an email.
- A free or low-cost whop that adds people as members. Free members still give you an email you can follow up with.
Use Whop tracking links per campaign so you can see which campaigns bring people who stay, not just people who view.
Step 2: Follow up within minutes
Someone who signs up from a clip remembers the clip for a short time. Send a welcome email right away that delivers what you promised and then explains who you are. Our welcome email best practices cover what to include.
Step 3: A short sequence that sells
Over the next week, send three to five emails:
- Deliver the freebie and one quick win.
- Tell the story behind your product, using the same angle that made the clip work.
- Social proof: results from members.
- The offer, with a clear reason to join now.
- A final reminder.
Our 7-day welcome email sequence is a good template to adapt.
Step 4: Treat buyers differently
If someone buys straight from a clip, they should not get the sales sequence. Move them into onboarding instead. This is where a tool connected to Whop helps: WhopMail knows when someone becomes a paying member and can start onboarding automatically, while non-buyers keep receiving the nurture sequence.
Measuring a campaign properly
Cost per 1,000 views tells you what attention costs. These tell you whether it paid off:
- Subscribers per 1,000 views for each campaign.
- Cost per subscriber: campaign spend divided by new subscribers.
- Revenue per subscriber after 30 days, including email-driven sales.
A campaign with fewer views but better subscribers can beat a viral one.
Raise the value of each buyer
Campaigns are paid traffic, so every extra dollar per order improves the math. Our sister product OneClick Upsell adds order bumps and one-click upsells to Whop checkout.
