Your Whop members are your most valuable audience, and at some point you will want them in an email list. Maybe you are announcing a new product, moving platforms, or setting up a welcome sequence. Whop gives you a few ways to get the emails out. Which one you use depends on whether you need a one-off file or a list that stays current.
Option 1: Export a CSV from the Whop dashboard
This is the fastest way to get a one-time copy.
- Open your business dashboard and go to the Users tab.
- Filter the table if you only want some users, for example active members of one product.
- Use the export button at the top of the table.
According to Whop's docs, the Users table shows the email address each person used to buy and their membership status (joined, left, paused, churned, renewing or paid once), along with other details about the user. The Memberships tab has one row per membership, with the product and plan, status and dates, and it can be filtered and exported the same way.
Good for: a one-off announcement or a quick look at who your best customers are.
The catch: the file is out of date the moment someone joins, cancels or fails a payment. If you email a stale list, you will send "welcome back" offers to people who never left and miss everyone who joined since.
Option 2: Pull members through the Whop API
If you have a developer, the Whop API has two routes:
- List members (
GET /members) returns a paginated list you can filter by product, plan and status. Reading emails needs themember:email:readpermission on your API key. - Create export (
POST /exports, currently in beta) starts an asynchronous export. You pollGET /exports/:iduntil it gives you adownload_url.
Pair either with webhooks (membership.activated, payment.succeeded, payment.failed and others) and you can keep an outside list current. We cover that in the Whop API and webhooks for email automation.
Good for: teams with their own CRM or data warehouse.
The catch: you now own a sync job, retries and error handling.

Option 3: Connect a tool that syncs for you
An email tool that connects to Whop directly saves you the export and the code. WhopMail connects to your Whop and keeps products, plans and members in sync. More than 20 Whop events, such as new members, payments, failed payments, cancellations and renewals, can start an email flow on their own. When a member pays, flows meant to win them back stop, so nobody gets a discount they did not need.
Good for: anyone who wants to email members regularly without maintaining exports.
Before you hit send: consent and expectations
Having someone's email because they bought from you is not the same as having permission to send them marketing. Rules differ by country, so check what applies to you. A few habits keep you on the right side of both the law and your buyers:
- Separate service email from marketing. Access details, receipts and failed-payment notices are expected. Promotions are a different category.
- Include a clear unsubscribe link in every marketing email and honor it quickly. In the US the CAN-SPAM Act requires a working opt-out and a physical postal address in commercial email.
- Send something useful first. A short "here is how to get the most out of what you bought" email earns the right to send offers later.
- Do not upload your Whop list to random tools. Each new tool is another place the data lives. Keep it in as few places as possible.
What to send first
Once your list is ready, these three emails cover most of the value:
- A welcome email for new members. See our welcome email best practices.
- A failed payment notice that helps members fix their card before access lapses. See Whop failed payments and cancellations.
- A win-back email for members who cancelled, ideally with a promo code limited to churned users. Our win-back email flow has templates.
Keep checkout and email working together
Email is one half of selling more to existing buyers. The other half is the checkout itself. Our sister product OneClick Upsell adds order bumps and one-click upsells to Whop checkout, so buyers can add more at the moment they pay.
